I have a big affinity to the Sumerian gods. there is a lot of information about Sumer on the internet, much of it needs to be read with a tinfoil hat. This link probably gets you in the right direction, links of this page lead to good proper archaeological information and translations. A very good base to start an interesting journey of study.
